Concurrent Multistate Bar Exam Score Transfer into New York
Obtaining a New York bar exam MBE transfer is a straightforward process. The New York bar examiners will accept an applicant’s MBE score that is transferred from another jurisdiction, only if the applicant takes the MBE in the other jurisdiction while concurrently taking the New York bar exam. If the applicant takes the MBE in the other jurisdiction on the same day that the New York bar examiners administer the MBE, then the New York bar examiners will combine the MBE score received in the other jurisdiction with the applicant’s scores on the other portions of the New York bar exam that the applicant took in New York (i.e., the Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) and Multistate Performance Test (MPT)). The New York bar examiners will not accept the transfer of MBE scores received through a previous administration of the MBE in another jurisdiction. You can request that the National Conference of Bar Examiners transfer a concurrent MBE score to the New York bar examiners. An applicant who duly transfers, to the New York bar examiners, an MBE score attained in another jurisdiction will not obtain a Uniform Bar Exam (UBE) score that can be transferred to another jurisdiction.
